About Lori Austin,
Etiquette Consultant
My services are based on the belief that etiquette is not a frivolous topic and should not be taken lightly. I strongly believe that . . . Manners are for Everyone and that Attitude is Everything!

Courtesy and Common Sense seem to be a problem with today’s’ society.  According to Rudebusters.com, in a poll, "We're ruder than ever,” it states that: nearly eight in 10 respondents said the lack of respect and courtesy is a serious national problem; 61% agreed that there was more rude behavior than in the past; people blamed parents for not instilling courtesy in their children, and popular culture for encouraging rude behavior  “'It is about the daily assault of selfish, inconsiderate behavior that gets under people's skin on the highways, in the office, on TV, in stores and the myriad (of) other settings where they encounter fellow Americans.'"

Society’s general consensus is that most people do not know what business etiquette is or think it is frivolous. I am asked on a daily basis about what I do as an etiquette consultant, or, how it would apply to them. I explain that it is much more than saying ‘please,’ ‘thank you,’ and ‘excuse me.’ It consists of using proper dining skills, maintaining good posture, along with possessing effective communication skills:  verbal and non verbal communication, positive body language, active listening, leadership qualities and a good handshake.

I created Polite Attitudes to present universally accepted protocol and etiquette education, in an interactive and entertaining fashion.  By, providing the tools and philosophy necessary to act appropriately in an unfamiliar environment, thereby providing a new found confidence.

I have been presenting etiquette programs for the last five years in Clarksville, Tennessee and Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The local high schools, college and universities, corporate & government executives and Fort Campbell have requested my services on Social, Children's, Business and Dining Etiquette, Protocol, Customer Service, along with Communication skills and Leadership training.

Programs include:  Manners for children 12 years of age and younger, Polite Attitudes for Teens ages 13-18 years, Dine Like a Diplomat, dining tutorial, and Corporate Etiquette.  All programs can be customized to fit your business and organizational needs.
